And just like that, we’re into 2022!

We’re starting the year stronger than ever, with many exciting projects ahead of us. But before we get into the swing of things, let’s look back at some of our favourite projects from 2021…

JLA’s Top 5 Projects of 2021

Whole House Joinery and Carpentry Project, Wittering Seafront

This entire house carpentry and joinery project was situated on the wonderful Sussex coast and carried out in partnership with Grey Tree Developments

Whole house joinery projects are often the longest ones to carry out, but we still thoroughly enjoy them nonetheless. For this specific project, our client required a whole range of bespoke joinery and carpentry elements for their newly built home, ranging from shelves and staircases to a front porch and oak mantlepiece and even a balcony!

Double Staircase, Basingstoke

This modern staircase was built for brand-new development and designed to be the centrepiece of the property; situated right in the heart of the large entrance hall. This project turned out to be one of the largest staircases we’ve ever completed, stretching from the underground living, through the ground floor and up to the first floor!

The project was finished off with a glazed balustrade, enabling lots of light to pass through. Read more on this staircase overhaul here.

Large Iroko Gates

These large Iroko gates were completed for a returning JLA customer, bespoke designed and built for their new driveway. The gates needed to be large enough to span the enormous width between the brick that formed the entrance. Hardwood Iroko was selected due to its excellent reputation in resisting against anything the British weather could possibly throw at it, ensuring it would stand the test of time!

Oak and Glass Landing

Glass is the ideal material for bringing that natural element into the home, reflecting and bringing in light, whilst making the surrounding space seem more comfortable and helping to make your home look larger and more open plan.

This staircase refurbishment was a slightly smaller job than usual, as a lot of work had already been completed. Unfortunately, the customers had been let down by their previous joiners, therefore we were called in to check over the refurb and complete any finishing touches.

Extension Door & Sidelights, Emsworth

Doors and windows are often the final pieces of the puzzle when it comes to an extension or refurbishment and more often than not they are needed in a hurry to ensure security on the property.

For this particular job, we were needed to make and fit a new door with opening sidelights and windows for a small extension in Emsworth, Hampshire.

We can’t wait to see what 2022 has in store for us and we hope you all stick around for the journey!
