The Brief 

A front porch not only provides extra space to your home, but is also often the first thing your guests see, creating a lasting impression. This front porch was a welcomed change from our normal workload, which usually consists of manufacturing items in our workshops and then going into the customer’s home to fit. This project was all external and allowed us to enjoy the lovely weather! 

Action Taken 

We initially chatted through designs with the customer and looked at various styles online for inspiration, before we then started sketching various designs and matching the style requested by the customer to suit their home. The manufacturing of the components were mainly completed in our workshops, but the assembly and structure were completed on site.

Outcome 

There were certain parts of the porch that were difficult to envisage at the design stage and could only be adapted once assembled, this was easily taken care of with a few trips back to the workshop. 

Once we got the porches structure and woodwork perfect for the customer, we began the tiling and leadwork. JLA Joineries roots in building and renovation often come in handy for projects like this, which is always a huge bonus for the customer, who doesn’t have to worry about organising work with other trades to finalise their projects.
