Bespoke Oak Staircase
The Brief:
We were approached by a local construction company in need of a pair of contemporary bespoke oak staircases for a client based in Emsworth, West Sussex. They wanted a joiner who could provide the full service: design, manufacture and installation for their customer, providing an efficient and high quality service.
BACKGROUND:
Initially we liaised with the construction company but as the project progressed we dealt directly with the customer for ease. We worked closely with them from the initial design stage where we supplied drawings and examples of our work, right through to the finishing touches once fitted.
Our skilled team of joiners designed and hand crafted beautiful oak hand rails and newel posts and fitted the toughened glass banister which cast light around what would otherwise be a dull space. The treads were carpeted which complemented and contrasted the hardwood and felt soft underfoot.
We also worked closely with building regulations at the local council to ensure the project met relevant regulations.
THE OUTCOME:
The client was delighted with their custom designed staircase, which let a lot of light shine through the landings and hallways and brightened up what could have been a slightly gloomy area if it wasn’t for the glazing incorporated into the staircase.

“Sue and I would like to thank you and all your team for all your excellent help and work on the new staircases. They are a splendid feature of the place and look really handsome. The glass is a great success in that it looks good and lets lots of light through. They feel good and solid with no squeaks at all. Building Regs have signed off okay!”
