Paint finish & Oak Staircase and landing

The Brief:

For this project, we were asked to create a beautiful oak staircase and landing that included a range of different aspects. The staircase and landing vision involved many elements of other stair designs all combined into one project. The clients wanted it to include a cut string one side and a full string the other, painted spindles and newels but clear coated Oak handrail and newel caps.

It also featured clear oak treads and risers which would result in painted strings, finished off with a nicely detailed carpeted runner… so many details to combine to make one unique centrepiece! We were very much up to this challenge and love meeting and exceeding clients expectation with the vision they have in mind.

Action taken:

Where we can we involve customers, particularly in design steps so that they can have an insight into the end product. We had a number of meetings with the customers at their home and also at our workshops in regard to detail and design. Once samples of fine detail had been chosen we could start manufacture.

We used high-quality joinery grade Oak for the visible oak parts and to keep the project as economical as possible all the paint finish components were done in softwood.

Outcome:

The finished stair and landing looked lovely – the home had recently gone through a very extensive, high-end restoration and the stair complimented the house perfectly.
