The Brief

We had the pleasure of creating this wonderful bespoke oak staircase for our clients home situated directly on the seafront with stunning views across the Sussex coast. For this project, we worked closely with local developers, Grey Tree Developments, who were a pleasure to work with!

An oak staircase can assist in bringing out a stunning natural look within the home, its distinctive grain and beautiful shades ranging from light yellow to dark browns, make it the ideal material for crafting unique pieces for your home. Timber staircases can also be effortlessly combined with other materials to switch up the look of your home.

Action Taken

We went into the project armed with a selection of plans showcasing the rough layout, but as with most projects, we chatted with the developers and clients to fine-tune the plans and ensure that the design feature had the personal touch our clients required.

The staircase featured a large solid oak landing connecting the two flights of stairs, combining the oak spindles and handrails – as a result, the staircase boasted an impressive amount of oak, adding a lovely warm timber feel to the home.

Outcome

To complete the oak staircase, we applied several coats of a hard-wearing clear finish, that resists spills of drinks and any muck off the bottom of peoples shoes! We opted for a clear finish to ensure that the oak kept its lovely natural look.
