Custom flush casement windows
Bespoke pine flush casement windows for home in Taunton, Somerset.
The Brief:
We were contacted through our website by an existing customer. They needed us to design and fabricate bespoke wooden windows in a beautiful rural property in Taunton, Somerset. They’d relocated from the local area, but having used us previously, trusted our team to complete the job to the required standard.
Action taken:
As the job wasn’t local, initially we liaised via email and telephone, then when needed we made a site visit to take the measurements required ready for making the replacement windows. Being an old stone cottage, the new windows needed to fit with the overall style of the building so we chose flush casement windows with brass fittings for a traditional look.
Once work commenced back at the workshops in Chichester it took one of our skilled joiners about a week and a half to two weeks, to handcraft them from pine, then all that was left was the long journey to install them.
Outcome:
We saw a promising dry spell of weather on the forecast and hurried down to Somerset to get the old windows out and the new ones in before the weather changed, it took us just two days to complete the job.
Once they were fitted, the customer decided to decorate them themselves. We advised them to do this fairly quickly as winter was approaching and the wood needed protecting – we supplied the windows with primer and undercoat already applied to protect them initially.

Thank you so much for our replacement windows that you fitted recently. You have produced great looking windows to match our existing ones on the extension, it has enhanced the appearance of the whole house and brought it all together really well. Your service has been excellent, you arrive on time, are polite, anticipate problems and fitted the windows with no fuss despite our awkward old stone cottage. All we had to do was choose the colour to paint them. It was so refreshing to receive such good service! Many many thanks.
