The Brief

As part of a whole house joinery project in Wittering, our client was after a cedar porch, complete with cedar planked seating. This project was undertaken in partnership with a local development company, Grey Tree Developments.

A porch is a perfect feature for those wanting to modernise the exterior of their home, although it’s important to consider the design of the porch as you don’t want it to take away from the original character of the house, it should enhance it!

Action Taken

The porch was machined and dry assembled in our Sussex workshops before we headed over to the site to prepare for the installation. Before our arrival, the brick walls were installed.

Outcome

Once we had completed the woodwork element of the project, we then made room for the roofers who fitted the slates and lead work to make the porch watertight to the main house. To finish off we also fitted some cedar-planked seating under the porch, which makes getting your shoes on and off a lot easier!
