Picking the perfect wardrobe for your space can seem challenging as most freestanding shop-bought closets tend to be the wrong fit for your space or they lack appropriate storage. A great way to work around this is to opt for a JLA bespoke built-in wardrobe, created with your space in mind.

The Brief

This bespoke project was completed for a loyal JLA joinery customer that we’ve had the pleasure of working on many projects with over the past eight years.

They were after a set of fitted wardrobes that blended in with the other woodwork in the home. Ensuring that the designs fitted seamlessly into the rest of their home wasn’t as challenging as it normally would be, as we’ve worked on several joinery projects in the house prior to this.

Action Taken

To begin with, we chatted through the design and functions each piece had to perform, all whilst making sure the designs complemented the rest of the interior.

After the layout and design had been finalised, we developed a few mock-up door fronts for our client to pick from, as trying to picture the finished project can often be very tricky!

After finalising the design side of things, we then proceeded to build the main frame in our workshops, before heading to the site, where we fitted the wardrobes into their new home.

One of the wardrobes had a painted finish and incorporated some mirrors, whereas the other was made from solid Ash, to match the existing internal doors and joinery.

Outcome

Before we could hand the project over to the decorators, we fitted LED strip lights on the door switches. This design feature meant that whenever our client opened the door, the lights in the wardrobe turned on, then when closed they turned off. A simple design feature, but with a big impact.

We were also able to track down some handles for the wardrobes which we had used everywhere else in the home, meaning the wardrobes fitted in perfectly.
